Robovan widened Tesla’s transport concept beyond the two-seat Cybercab

Different passenger capacities imply different service patterns.

Archive coverage: the date above identifies the historical event, announcement or report. Analysis is written with hindsight; earlier targets are not current commitments.

Tesla also presented a Robovan concept at its October 2024 event. It was a separate vehicle concept, not another name for Cybercab.

Collective perspective

Different passenger capacities imply different service patterns. A small vehicle may suit individual trips, while a larger format could be considered for groups or concentrated demand. Those possibilities should be evaluated independently, rather than assuming a single revenue model applies across every vehicle.

Our perspective is to keep future optionality separate from the initial fleet plan. Interesting concepts can belong on a watchlist without being included in procurement commitments or expected income. A disciplined collective would establish one service model before treating a broader product family as available expansion capacity.
