Removing an app waitlist did not remove Tesla’s geographic limits

The change matters to the passenger journey: fewer access steps can make a service easier to try. It does not mean the same person can summon a vehicle wherever they happen to be.
Our perspective is to distinguish access friction from operating capacity. A simpler signup process may increase the number of potential riders, while the fleet still needs enough vehicles, coverage and support to serve them reliably. For market research, actual local trip availability remains more informative than the ability to install an app.
